UPHAMPTON FARM
Welcome to Uphampton Farm. The farm has been in the family since 1961Â when Joff's Grandfather bought it at auction. The farm has gone through many transformations in the time it has been in the Roberts family. Joff's Mother and Father had a hugely successful pig unit and kept poultry some of which were involved in trial work for Elanco. Sadly the pig industry was struggling financially and Joff's father made the difficult decision to go into poultry and dissolve the pig unit.

POULTRY UNIT
We rear chickens for what is now Avara but most locals still refer to as Sun Valley but was Cargill in between. The birds arrive with us as day old chicks from the hatchery half a mile away and leave us at about 2kgs in weight to the factory in Hereford so the chickens produced at Uphampton Farm have traveled very few miles. We also have a poultry unit at Lower Ledicot Farm which belonged to Joff's Uncle until we bought it in 2017.
JOFF AND EMMA

We started rearing calves in 1999 when we had our first child, Harry. We were using a Dutch Barn which was not creating the right environment for the calves so we bulit a new unit using Holm and Laue igloos and feeding equipment.

The calves are reared on contract for Pathway Farming Ltd.
They arrive with us at between 2 and 4 weeks old. They are fed on a high plane of nutrition on an Holm and Laue Calf Expert and reared through to 170 kgs.

Apple Orchards

The orchards are currently all on contract to Thatchers. They are harvested by contractors and then go through the apple wash. They are then stored on the apple clamp and hauled to Myrtle Farm, Somerset where they are pressed to make cider.
